While Halloween brings us haunted houses, Oktoberfest celebrations and other adults-only costume parties, it is also filled with endless fun for our little ones. From safe trick-or-treating events to pumpkin-decorating parties, there are so many family-friendly Halloween events happening in Northern Colorado this year.
Mark your calendar for these treat-filled events throughout the region from Loveland to Greeley — and make sure to get your costumes ready. After all, most, if not all, of these events encourage costumes!
Pumpkin Carving Workshop | Windsor
October 19, 1–2:30 p.m. | Boardwalk Park
Create your very own pumpkin masterpiece at this pumpkin carving workshop in Windsor. Learn carving techniques under the expert guidance of pumpkin artist John Bardeen of Grampa Bardeen’s Family Pumpkin Carving Kits. Everyone will leave with a freshly carved jack-o-lantern to take home as well as a free set of professional carving tools. Register with the Town of Windsor in advance for $20 and bring your own pumpkin, which should be large enough to fit an 8.5-by-11-inch stencil on one side. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult who can help with the more complicated carving steps.
Fall Funday | Greeley
October 19, 1–4 p.m. | Greeley Recreation Center
Looking to spruce up your costume closet this year? Head to the Greeley Recreation Center to celebrate National Costume Swap Day. Bring an old costume to swap with someone else and enjoy crafts and games. Register for this free event by calling 990-350-9400.
Howl-O-Ween Trick or Treat | Greeley
October 19 + 20, 3–7 p.m. | Centennial Village Museum

Put on your spookiest (or silliest!) costume and make your way to Centennial Village Museum in Greeley for a fun-filled weekend of tricks and treats. Try your hand at carnival games, conquer the not-so-scary haunted house, participate in the costume contest, and go trick-or-treating at the historic buildings throughout the museum. Admission is just $3 per person for ages 3 and older.
Harvest Night Family Fun Run | Loveland
October 19, 3 p.m. | North Lake Park
The Harvest Night Family Fun Run is intended to get everyone out for some good old fashioned family fun, including games, NoCo food trucks, live music and a leisurely 2-mile run through North Lake Park just before the sun sets. All ages and abilities are encouraged to come out for this beloved community event in Loveland dating back to 1998.
Loveland Zombie Crawl | Loveland
October 19, 4–7 p.m. | Loveland Aleworks
The Loveland Zombie Crawl is taking over downtown Loveland on October 19, starting at Loveland Aleworks. Take advantage of the on-site zombie makeup and participate in the costume contest for individuals, groups and children. In the meantime, enjoy drink specials (for those 21+) at a variety of venues — as long as you are decked out in zombie attire! This event is free and open to all ages.
Pumpkin Plunge | Windsor
October 25, 6–7:45 p.m. | Windsor Community Recreation Center
Dive into the pool at the Windsor Community Recreation Center, searching for the perfect pumpkin to decorate. After you choose yours, decorate it while you enjoy music and a festive movie. This event is designed for children ages 2–12. Register in advance for just $6.
Treatsylvania | Fort Collins
October 25–27, Varying Times | The Farm at Lee Martinez Park

Enjoy a weekend of Halloween fun at The Farm at Lee Martinez Park. This is the largest annual fundraiser for the farm, attracting more than 8,000 children and their parents each year. Children ages 10 and under will receive treat bags to pack with treats they’ll pick up from the make-believe Halloween village with 40 storefronts. Plus, enjoy a pumpkin patch, a hayride, a “not-so-spooky” barn, refreshments and cookies. Admission is just $5 per child and adults get in for free. Treatsylvania takes place from 6–7:30 p.m. on Friday, 6–8 p.m. on Saturday, and 1–3 pm. and 5–7 p.m. on Sunday.
Phantom 4 Miler | Fort Collins
October 26, 7:30–11 a.m. | Anheuser-Busch Brewery
The Phantom 4 Miler is a Halloween themed race open to the whole family, including your little ones and your four-legged family members. In addition to a 4-mile race around the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Fort Collins, enjoy a post-race hot breakfast, beer, live music, local vendors and a costume contest. Hosted by Animal House Rescue & Grooming, the race benefits homeless pets in Northern Colorado. Get your costumes ready and register the whole family today!
Kids and Family Halloween Party | Fort Collins
October 26, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. | Ginger and Baker
Ginger and Baker is cooking up something special this Halloween. Enjoy an afternoon of Halloween themed tricks and treats, including ghoulish guacamole, pumpkin-shaped mini pizzas, monster Rice Krispies treats and spooky s’mores dip. After you receive hands-on instruction from a chef instructor, you’ll be able to enjoy a meal of the items you cooked — and leave with a recipe packet with all the menu items from the class, so you can recreate these dishes over and over again! Costumes are encouraged but not required. Register for $45 in advance.
Music of Phish for Kids Halloween Spooktacular | Fort Collins

The Rock and Roll Playhouse is a family concert series hosted at historic music venues across the country. They are bringing a special Halloween themed event to Aggie Theatre, featuring the music of Phish, inviting kids to move, play and sing along. This event is designed for children ages 10 and under, and admission is $15 per person.
Halloween Celebration | Fort Collins

Head to Bath Garden Center and Nursery for a free Halloween celebration, featuring crafts, a pumpkin carving demonstration, food trucks and a costume contest for kids — plus one for pets. Bring your costumed kids and dogs for an afternoon of endless fall fun at this lush garden center in Fort Collins!
Halloween Carnival | Windsor
October 26, 1–4 p.m. | Boardwalk Park Museum
During your downtown trick-or-treating adventure in Windsor, stop by the Boardwalk Park Museum to encounter the museum’s historic buildings, which will be transformed into a spooky haunted village with free candy for all. Plus, enjoy scary Halloween stories, free activities and crafts, and more Halloween fun for all ages.
Cosmic Costume Skate | Greeley
October 26, 6:30–8 p.m. | Greeley Ice Haus
Each Halloween season, Greeley Ice Haus transforms into a spooky skating rink. Admission is just $5.50 or $2 for children 5 years and younger, and if you wear your costume, your skate rental is free! Make sure it’s a good one because the costume contest runs from 7:45–8 p.m.
Tiny Tot Halloween | Fort Collins
October 31, 10 a.m.–1 p.m. | Old Town Square
On Halloween morning, your tiny ghouls and goblins are being summoned to invade Old Town for Tiny Tot Halloween, a safe and family-friendly trick-or-treating experience. Travel down the sidewalks of Old Town, collecting candy from participating downtown businesses and their costumed staff members. All the fun starts in the square, where you’ll receive a goodie bag and a map of the participating locations.
Tricks and Treats at FCMoD | Fort Collins

Get decked out in your most boo-tiful (or frightful!) costumes and head to the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery for a variety of Halloween themed activities scattered throughout the museum, including trick-or-treating stations. This event is included with your admission or membership.
