The Breakfast Club

If you have a group of five, you might consider throwing it back with a tribute to The Breakfast Club. You’ve got Claire (the “princess”), Andrew (the “athlete”), John (the “criminal”), Brian (the “brain”), and Allison (the “basket case”). This is an easy one to recreate with a trip to the thrift store — or maybe even your own closet!

Circus Animals + Ringmaster

If your home regularly feels like a circus, consider dressing in character with your family — as a lion, an elephant, a mime, a bearded lady, a strongman, and of course, a ringmaster to keep everyone in line!

Frozen Characters

Disney’s Frozen and Frozen 2 have taken the world by storm over the last decade — and it’s not slowing down any time soon. Dress up as Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and everyone’s favorite snowman, Olaf!

Game of Thrones Characters

Game of Thrones fans have many characters to choose from in the series, but one of the most common combos is Khal Drogo, Khaleesi, and a little dragon or two!

Goldilocks and the Three Bears

If you have a family of four (which includes a little girl) you should consider dressing up as Goldilocks and the three bears! You can even decorate a wagon to be a bed — one that is just right — to make trick-or-treating even easier for little ones.

Harry Potter Characters

If you have a group of three or more, there are so many characters to choose from in the world of Harry Potter. You have Harry, Ron and Hermione, and so many others, including Luna Lovegood, Moaning Myrtle, Severus Snape, and Hagrid. And if you want to get really complex, you could dress up as Voldemort or Dobby!

Hocus Pocus Witches

With the release of Hocus Pocus 2, we’re all thinking about our three favorite witch sisters: Winifred or “Winnie,” Sarah and Mary Sanderson — the perfect group costume idea for three. Make sure you do Winnie’s famous lipstick and show only your front teeth for pictures!

Inside Out Characters

Inside Out is a favorite amongst kids and adults alike, for its tear-jerking message of the importance of expressing emotion. Dress up in a wide range of emotions as Sadness, Anger, Disgust, Fear and Joy! This is an easy one to DIY with each distinct color — and a little bit of face paint and other accessories.

Peter Pan, Tinkerbell + the Lost Boys

The timeless story of Peter Pan makes for an excellent Halloween costume year after year. If you have a family of boys, consider dressing up as Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and the Lost Boys!

Rock, Paper, Scissors

Safari Animals

Stranger Things Kids

Over the last several Halloweens, we’ve seen a ton of Stranger Things characters, so why not bring them all together as a group? Stick with the OGs, like Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Will, Lucas, Steve and Nancy — or incorporate some characters from the later seasons, like Robin, Chrissy, Argyle or Vecna. Just head to the thrift store to find some ‘80s clothing and get creative!

Super Mario Bros. Characters

Throw it back with everyone’s favorite video game of the ‘80s and ‘90s: Super Mario Bros. The parents can dress up as Princess Peach and Mario, accompanied by Yoshi, Bowzer, Toad, or your other favorite characters.

Toy Story Toys

It doesn’t matter how old you are — the Toy Story franchise continues to make an impact, generation after generation. Dress up as Woody, Jessie, Buzz, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Rex, Hamm, or another obscure toy from any of the four movies.

The Wizard of Oz Characters

If you’ve got a group of four, dress up as The Wizard of Oz characters! You’ve got Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion, and if you have more in your crew, you can throw in Glenda and/or the Wicked Witch of the West. And if you have a little fur baby who wants to join the fun, you can make them Toto!

Happy Halloween!

No matter who you dress up as, we hope you and your crew have a fun and safe Halloween!
