It’s getting hot in here! And by “here” we mean Fort Collins, Colorado. The temperatures are starting to climb and we need something to help us cool down fast! For 90-degree FoCo days when even an ice-cold beer simply won’t do, there’s arguably no better drink than a frozen one. We’re talking about slushies, margaritas blended with ice, and even alcohol-free milkshakes.

To help you get a little cooler this summer, we rounded up some of our favorite places to get a frozen drink in Fort Collins. Whether you drink alcohol or not, these restaurants’ ice-cold creations will definitely hit the spot.

With the term “margaritas” actually in this hotspot’s name, it isn’t surprising that 3 Margaritas offers some fantastic frozen cocktails! Their massive selection of margaritas includes options like “Mango Crush,” which features mango margarita mix and an entire bottle of Shock Top on top as well as the “Angry Bird” featuring blackberry margarita mix and an Angry Orchard cider. If you aren’t a huge fan of margaritas, 3 Margaritas also has other frozen options like piña coladas, mudslides and other tasty treats to offer you.

Beantrees

432 12th Street, Fort Collins

Beantrees is the first (and only) local, independent, family-run coffee drive-thru in the Fort Collins area! You can enjoy their tasty beverages and other delectable creations from 6 a.m.- 6 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m.-6 p.m. on the weekends. One of our favorite Beantree drink options is their blended coffees and smoothies! Enjoy blended milk (dairy, soy or rice) with espresso and your choice of syrup or a smoothie made with green tea and your choice of fruit puree. They also offer a seasonal frappe (right now, it’s banana!) so be sure to follow them on social media for updates each season.

CopperMuse Distillery

We can’t think of a better spot to get cocktails than a distillery! CopperMuse Distillery is always a great choice for drinks and this summer is no exception. Right now, they are offering incredible frozen options like Spiced Coladas, Margaritas, Calamansi Berries, and a Moscow Mule—all blended to perfection to help you beat the heat. And did we mention you can order them to-go as well? Click here to place your order.

The Flipside in Loveland is a pinball arcade/bar that is fun for the whole family (though children must always be accompanied by an adult). Here you’ll find games that will remind you of simpler times like air hockey, Skee-Ball, toy cranes, and many, many pinball machines! When it comes to frozen drinks, they have tons of alcoholic and nonalcoholic options, including mudslides, piña coladas, frozen sangrias and much more.

Lima Coffee Bar

215 East Foothills Parkway, Fort Collins

Lima Coffee Roastery is based here in Fort Collins, offering fair trade and organic coffee to the masses online and at their coffee bar inside Foothills Mall. While everything at Lima Coffee Bar is great, we love sipping on an ice-cold frappé while perusing the mall on a hot day! They offer both frozen coffee drinks and non-coffee drinks in flavors like s’mores, vanilla, cookies and cream, chocolate, chocolate chip and even “Unicorn Cotton Candy.” Click here to order ahead!

The whole family will love dining at Nick’s! This hot spot is nestled in the heart of FoCo, and offers a festive atmosphere and homestyle Italian cuisine. You can enjoy fun specials (like burger night on Tuesdays and mussel madness on Thursdays), or just stick with the menu’s mainstays—including crispy calamari, bucatini carbonara, and braised lamb pappardelle. And when it comes to frozen drinks, don’t miss their incredible frozen Rosé or Moscow Mules!

Old Town Churn

234 North College Avenue, Fort Collins

When looking for a spot to chow down on some ice cream on a warm day, you can’t miss Old Town Churn located—you guessed it—in Old Town! This tasty ice cream spot is another family member of the Little Man Ice Cream Company, known for its inventive, nostalgic ice cream parlors all across the Front Range. At their Fort Collins location, you can enjoy a wide variety of tasty frozen treats including milkshakes, malts and floats made with any of their flavors. For an even more special drink, ask for your shake cup to be lined with chocolate or strawberry sauce for an extra jolt of flavor!

Nestled in the corner of Old Town’s Exchange, Old Town Putt offers visitors a unique, challenging way to spend an afternoon or night out. Not only do they feature nine indoor mini-golf holes to play, but they also have a full bar and outdoor patio to round out the fun! While they have plenty of fun for kids, they also set aside “adult-only” hours, so that you can enjoy the course and bar without the kiddos for a little while. They are well known for their large frozen drink menu—which features options like a frozen mango daiquiri, “frozé”, a watermelon diablo and more.

Union Bar & Soda Fountain

250 Jefferson Street, Fort Collins

While rosé has always been a fan favorite, we’ve particularly enjoyed different variations of the drink (think: rosé popsicles, slushies and more), and Union Bar & Soda Fountain’s is one of the best we’ve found in town. Their bartenders mix up a magic blend of strawberry, peach, lemon and rosé and then freeze it into a heavenly slushie cocktail that is perfect for summer sipping. They also offer other frozen options from their soda fountain like a coconut watermelon mojito, boozy shakes, and non-boozy shakes for those under 21.

The cold never bothered us anyway!
