Nestled in the newly developed Bucking Horse neighborhood in Fort Collins, Jessup Farm Artisan Village is a farm-inspired collection of businesses created to showcase and preserve the city’s rich agricultural history.
The village is home to a variety of businesses, including two restaurants, a coffee shop, a brewery, shops, a photography studio and more, which means you can satisfy your caffeine fix, get a haircut, grab a beer, enjoy a meal and pick up a gift — all in one convenient place.

HISTORY

At the turn of the 20th century, when Fort Collins was a small agricultural town, Joseph and Mary Jessup purchased the property from Joseph’s uncle that is now Jessup Farm Artisan Village. Joseph built a brick farmhouse, a barn and other outbuildings, eventually creating a proper farmstead where they could raise their sons. The Jessups worked the farm and owned the property until the mid-1950s. In 1963, their neighbors, the Johnsons, purchased the farmstead and incorporated it into their property called Spring Creek Farms.
As the area grew, Spring Creek Farms was sold to development. In 2011, the new owners, the Campana family of Bellisimo Inc., thought of a plan to preserve and honor the property’s incredible history by creating an innovative reuse plan. Bellisimo combined elements of New Urbanist planning with concepts from the farm-to-table/farmers’ market movements, to create the Jessup Farm Artisan Village we see today.
While it may serve a different function than it originally did, the village still sits high on the bluff and remains a welcoming place for neighbors and visitors to drop by for a visit. To learn more about the history of Jessup Farm, click here.

Any day at Jessup Farm Artisan Village is best begun at Bindle Coffee, one of our favorite roasters in NoCo. Husband and wife owners Andrew and Jenn Webb care deeply about where their coffee beans come from and how both the farmers and consumers are treated. Their global worldview is displayed clearly in the shop where they have a large world map that shows where their current beans are from. And they roast those beans inside their beautifully transformed 19th-century mechanic’s shop! Bindle has a full espresso bar and coffee brew bar, plus loose leaf teas, wholesome homemade baked goods, and a variety of light breakfast and lunch options.
Cacciatore at Heller’s Kitchen
Italian Restaurant
Step into the Old World at Cacciatore at Heller’s Kitchen, where handcrafted, flavorful Italian dishes are perfectly paired with carefully curated wines. Everything here is made from scratch, including the pizzas, grinders, cavatelli, gnocchi and more. Cacciatore offers the option for either take-out or dine-in — and you can take your dining experience to the next level with a special wine pairing menu, a cooking class, or the special “chef’s table” meal service in the kitchen.

Situated in a historic 130-year-old building, The Farmhouse at Jessup Farm is a casual eatery focused on elevated country and healthy farm fare. While they source from local farms, The Farmhouse has a little farm of their own on site, with a ¼-acre of land and a chicken coop. Whether it’s brunch, lunch or supper, their seasonal menu items are made from scratch with only the best local ingredients! Their atmosphere completes the experience, with its rustic, inviting and country-meets-city feel.

Jessup Farm Barrel House
Brewery
No village would be complete (in Colorado, at least) without a local brewery. In a region saturated with breweries, it can be difficult for a new brewery to stand out, but the Barrel House does just that. The same people who brought us Funkwerks are using Jessup Farm’s 130-year-old barn to create and serve barrel-aged brews to the masses. The barrel house utilizes tequila, whiskey, rum, bourbon and wine barrels to age their beers, creating a truly unique yet approachable lineup! They offer a rotating 16-tap selection of crafted beers plus one dedicated nitro tap. The beer is served in pints, tasters, flights and growlers.

Founded in Colorado Springs in 1986 by childhood buddies named — you guessed it! — Josh and John, this ice cream shop is making its way north to Jessup Farm Artisan Village in Fort Collins. All of the ice cream at Josh & John’s is churned fresh and made with the best possible ingredients. Flavors include both originals, such as Oatmeal Cookie and Malted Mazel Toff, and classics, like Rocky Mountain Road and Dutch Chocolate. Complete your experience with a homemade waffle cone and hot fudge or caramel drizzled over your flavor of choice!

SUSTAINABILITY
And if you thought Jessup Farm Artisan Village couldn’t get any better, they also place a significant emphasis on sustainability, from the repurposed historic buildings to a newer initiative: their Native Grass Restoration Project. This multi-year project is focused on restoring native grass to Jessup Farm and the surrounding Bucking Horse neighborhood. Native grass requires much less water to maintain and remains more hardy in years of drought.
While this growing and seeding process might take a bit to unfold, the long-term benefits will be well worth it. Overall, this project will save Jessup Farm and Bucking Horse 55 million gallons of water every year. Plus, it will prevent 6,000 pounds of CO2 from being emitted per year by lawn maintenance equipment, and will provide an excellent wildlife habitat for rabbits, deer, birds, insects, and other small mammals seeking food, nesting and coverage.
