The Coolest Classes for Kids in Fort Collins

When it comes to creativity, motor skills, confidence and socialization, education starts early and often happens both inside and outside the standard classroom. Here in Fort Collins, our community offers open spaces, local businesses, programs and annual events which invite our children to explore a huge diversity of activities and topics. 

In this guide, we’re highlighting those businesses, nonprofits and programs that can help our kids learn every day of the year: whether they’re exploring computer technology, music, live theater performance, gymnastics or even cake decorating. Whether you’re an amateur cook, a corporate team, a kid, a couple, or an aspiring baker, The Cooking Studio is the place to learn and practice all your cooking skills. Known for creative yoga classes in a non-competitive environment, Family Balance Yoga is one of the only places in town that offers dedicated kids yoga classes. In fact, the team founded this studio with the goal of establishing a one-stop shop for families and children to exercise, bond, have fun and grow together. Filled with games, stretching activities, enjoyable yoga poses, breathing and meditation games, and stories, these classes are fun and beneficial for all ages. Originally established in March 2006, Foundation Music School is a nonprofit community school of the arts providing high-quality arts education and opportunities to all. iD Tech is a nationwide program which introduces kids and teens of all skill levels to coding, artificial intelligence technology, machine learning, film, robotics and game design. In Fort Collins, the program is offered through Colorado State University and offers camps and courses for children as young as seven-years-old up to 17.
