With the abundance of meal kit services, dietary innovations and local food movements across the nation, there’s more pressure than ever before to serve healthy, sustainable meals at home. But sometimes our busy day-to-day schedules just don’t allow for all the shopping, cooking and cleaning that goes into these large-scale affairs. Or maybe, you just don’t know where to start.

There’s no denying that preparing these types of meals takes a lot of time and a lot of effort. But personal chefs are here to relieve some of that stress! And Northern Colorado’s culinary artists have all the passion, experience and local, sustainable menus you would expect out of a Fort Collins food business.

Meet our favorites — from FoCo natives to global travelers — and schedule your first in-home personal chef visit!

A Chef of Your Own

Personal Chefs in Fort Collins

A Chef of Your Own specializes in food allergies and specialty diets. Whether you’re gluten intolerant, have Celiac Disease, are following a Paleo Diet, or a heart healthy lifestyle, the team can build a plan and prepare a meal that’s ideal for your needs. But if all you want is a traditional meal and an excuse to get out of the kitchen, they can take care of that as well!

After graduating from Penn State with a degree in Nutrition, owner and chef Barbara Shafer went on to culinary school and graduated from The Walnut Hill School in Philadelphia. Since then, she has worked for independent restaurants, large corporations, a private children’s school, a sorority at Colorado State University, and more — but she got bored. Now, with Stephanie Javernick as Sous Chef, she is able to create a brand new culinary experience every time she enters the kitchen.

Next time you need fresh, healthy meals give Barb a call and take the stress out of eating!

Leigh’s Professional Chef Service

If you live in Fort Collins, Loveland, Berthoud, Estes Park, Greeley, Windsor or Wellington, chef Leigh Trotter is here to serve you and your family. She customizes menus, does all the grocery shopping, and buys fresh, seasonal ingredients (or occasionally brings items from her own organic garden!). Before she leaves, she even packages and labels your meals for easy thawing and reheating.

Her experience in healthy cooking for specialty diets, restrictions and picky palates ensures you’ll have at least one enjoyable and interesting meal each day!

Salted Chef

Salted Chef was started to provide relief for anyone who finds it challenging to tackle dinner each night — whether that struggle is due to dietary restrictions, time constraints, health concerns, or simply comes from a desire to spend more time around the table and less time in the kitchen.

Their team of experienced chefs tailors each menu and meal to your family — including meal options covering traditional, low-calorie, low-carb, gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, paleo and dairy-free diets. The team discusses specific dietary needs and personal goals in detail and then creates a custom meal plan approved by you.

You pay the same preparation fee for one serving as you do for eight, and a side or dessert is always included for free! All you have to do is choose a meal and add it to your online cart where you can schedule and learn more about the process. You can even email them your own recipe if you have something specific in mind.

Happy eating!
