The Stanley Hotel

Since we have examined the spooky side of the Stanley Hotel before, let’s take a walk on the lighter side. The Stanley Hotel is offering their special Mother’s Day menu and buffet for $58 again this year. But this isn’t your average buffet, since everything the hotel provides is fit for royalty.

This is also a great excuse to take a trip to Estes Park on Mother’s Day, because of the many activities you can do as a family in this charming mountain town. So make a day out of it by heading to the Stanley Hotel for brunch then wandering the streets of Estes Park, admiring wildlife at Rocky Mountain National Park, or going on a hike as a family in the surrounding mountainous region!

While they don’t necessarily offer a special menu on Mother’s Day, we thought we would direct your attention to Snooze, an AM Eatery. This is one of the best places to grab breakfast or brunch in the city — and perhaps in the entire state of Colorado. Sip on a Cup of Tea at Happy Lucky’s Teahouse

Toast to mom with a quintessential Mother’s Day beverage (besides Mimosas at brunch) — a cup of tea! Happy Lucky’s Teahouse and Treasures is offering a special tea time on the afternoon of Mother’s Day at 1 and 3 p.m. You can select from tea sandwiches, scones, desserts, and endless tea from their “Great Wall of Tea.”

The event costs $22.95 for adults and $11.95 for children, and reservations must be made in advance by calling 970-689-3417.

Mom Can Hop on Board the Trolley for Free!

From 12–5 p.m. this Mother’s Day, moms can ride the Fort Collins trolley for free, with at least one paying fare — because why would you want mom to ride alone? Grab the family, pay a few bucks, and get on board the trolley at its starting location at the City Park tennis courts.

Regular fares cost $2 for adults, and $1 for seniors and children, and children under 3 are free. This is a fun way to see your city from a new perspective for a low price!

Stock Mom’s Spring Plant Inventory at the Gardens on Spring Creek

The Gardens on Spring Creek are celebrating moms and all things floral with their annual Spring Plant Sale happening on Mother’s Day weekend! Stop by their sale on Saturday, May 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Sunday, May 8 from 12 to 5 p.m., or get a head start on your spring plant shopping on Friday if you’re a member at The Gardens.

The Gardens’ own horticulturists and students from Colorado State University and Front Range Community College have been preparing for this plant sale since January to get thousands of annuals, herbs, perennials, and vegetables ready for you to choose from this Mother’s Day weekend! Proceeds from the sale will help support various horticulture programs at CSU, FRCC, and the Gardens.

You can expect to see drought-tolerant perennials, rock garden perennials and succulents, many varieties of herbs and ornamental grasses, drought-tolerant annuals, succulents for drought-tolerant containers, and much more!

Tell mom you’re going to plant paradise for the afternoon on Mother’s Day, and she’ll be thrilled.

Enjoy a Special Mother’s Day Concert Performance

You will not believe that this group of five vocalists and one vocal drummer perform without any instruments. Face is a vocal rock band based out of Boulder taking the short trip to Fort Collins to perform a special Mother’s Day Concert at The Lincoln Center. Tickets cost $35 for center seating and $25 for seats on the side, but you can get four tickets for the price of three for this special concert!
