Since its first year running the festival in 2000, New Belgium Brewing Company has proven to the country that biking fun has no barriers at the Tour de Fat. Commemorating its 16th year, the signature event will return to its hometown, Fort Collins, on Saturday, September 5 at the Civic Center Park.

The event is intended to celebrate all things bicycle, while showcasing New Belgium Brewery’s’ finest creations. Ultimately, the company wishes to use this festival to increase awareness and participation in cycling as a sustainable form of transportation. This video, shared on the New Belgium YouTube Channel really captures the essence, the spirit and the FUN of this charitable event.

Last year the Tour de Fat visited 10 cities across the country, attracting more than 100,000 attendees and raising more than $3 million total. In addition, Fort Collins was able to singularly raise the most money for charitable purposes (over $100,000) and had the highest attendance rate.

We understand that the Tour de Fat is a truly unique experience year-to-year, drawing in thousands of participants who arrive in costumes like you’ve never seen before. For this reason, we’ve decided to take a look back at some of the craziest costumes over the years. Which one is your favorite? Share in the comments below!
