Eco-Broker Certified Designation
Eco-Brokers help customers market properties with green features and save money and live comfortably through energy efficiency and environmentally sensitive choices.
The EcoBroker Certified Designation is awarded to real estate professionals who have completed advanced courses on the energy and environmental issues that affect real estate transactions. Over 50 Group Realtors have joined the movement of professionals pushing the real estate market toward energy efficient, sustainable, and healthier design/features in homes and buildings by completing the required coursework. The Group, Inc. has one of the largest percentages of Brokers who have earned the Certified EcoBroker designation among real estate companies in the US.
The Group, Inc. offices in Fort Collins are members of ClimateWise, a voluntary, city-run program that is dedicated to helping local business and the environment. Through environmental assessments and creative solutions, The City of Fort Collins Climate Wise Team helps businesses tackle modern-day business challenges that impact bottom lines and the quality of life in Fort Collins.
The goal of the Climate Wise program is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by promoting waste reduction, energy savings, alternative transportation, water conservation, and practicing pollution prevention. So far, participating businesses in the Climate Wise program r3educe greenhouse gas emissions by over 100,000 tons of CO2e per year (as of 2008).
In 2009, Group offices provided each individual’s office with a recycling receptacle. The paper we are recycling is being weighed so we can measure our improvement

According to the Andersonville Study of Retail Economics in 2004, if you spend $100 at a local independent business, $32 leaves the local economy and $68 stays in the local economy. If you spend $100 at a non-independent business, $57 leaves the local economy and $43 stays in the local economy.
In addition to the obvious economic benefits of doing business with locally owned companies, equally important is the sense of community it fosters and the positive impact it has on our environment.
