DOG FOOD + SUPPLY STORES

D.O.G.S., which stands for Dog Owner’s General Store, is a locally and veteran-owned grooming salon and pet supply store located at the Promenade Shops at Centerra. Here, you’ll find more than 50 Colorado brands of dry and raw food, toys, treats, apparel, accessories and outdoor gear, as well as your favorite national brands.

Poudre Pet & Feed Supply is on a mission to improve the lives of pets in our community. With a knowledgeable staff and hometown service, this pet supply store has been locally owned since 1988, offering six convenient locations in the area, including one right here in Loveland. Search by type of animal — dog, cat, bird, fish, reptile, etc. — and take advantage of free local delivery!

Named after a cat who inspired the opening of this store, Hank’s Pet Food Market serves the Loveland community with a great selection of natural pet foods and quality pet supplies. At Hank’s, you’ll find everything you need to keep your dog, cat or small mammal healthy and happy, including food, toys, treats, supplies and more.

Doggie Dips and Chips offers only the best for your pet. They have a variety of food options, including dry, canned, freeze-dried, dehydrated and raw, all of which are free of corn, wheat, soy, and animal by-products. Plus, they have a wide selection of health and nutritional products — plus CBD oil for pets!

GROOMERS + DOG WASH STATIONS

Self-Service:

Dog Baths & Beyond is reducing the stress for both you and your dog, with their self-service tubs and natural shampoos and conditioners, which don’t strip your dog’s fur of necessary oils. Plus, leave all the cleaning to them! Dog Baths & Beyond also offers natural and healthy organic treats, CBD products, toys, leads, collars and more.

Along with full-service grooming, Cosmic Dog has three full-size tubs for self-serve dog washes, so you can bathe your dog — without having to clean up the mess! Cosmic Dog also offers fun dog accessories, local art, and homemade dog treats. This small shop is all about supporting local businesses, so they have a dedicated section for items made in Colorado.

Groomers:

Does it get any more convenient than mobile pet grooming? Clean Cut Dogs comes straight to your home, offering on-site grooming services designed to reduce stress for your dog. Their basic packages are all-inclusive, but they also offer mud mineral baths, de-skunking baths, flea and tick baths, limited de-matting, and non-bath brush-out appointments.

Sweetheart Pet Grooming

Sweetheart Pet Grooming treats your pet like the sweetheart they are, making sure they feel safe, comfortable and taken care of during their visit. Their services include bathing, haircuts, nail trims, anal gland expression, de-skunking, de-matting, and ear cleaning for both dogs and cats. The Sweetheart Pet Grooming team has 14 years of experience and 11 years in the business!

DOG-FRIENDLY BUSINESSES

One of the most important questions any dog owner asks is “Can I bring my dog there?” Thankfully, there are plenty of dog-friendly businesses in town that will welcome the four-legged member in your party with open arms, either inside or out on their outdoor patio. Check out a few of our favorite dog-friendly businesses in Loveland, including breweries, shops, restaurants and more!

DOG PARKS + DOG-FRIENDLY TRAILS

Situated at the south end of Fairgrounds Park, there’s a completely fenced-in dog park with plenty of space for your dog to run and play. The park has a water fountain and waste bag dispensers for your convenience. And if you have a small or shy dog, there’s even a separate area for them to play!

At the central-south end of Mehaffey Park, you’ll find a fenced-in, off-leash dog park, including two separate areas, one for all dogs and another for shy/small dogs. The landscape is comprised of dirt/gravel and mulch, with a few rock benches for humans to sit on.

As part of the Round Mountain National Recreation Trail, the Summit Adventure Trail is a 4.5-mile (one way) moderate hike to the summit of Sheep Mountain. And the best part is: you can bring your dog with you! If you do, consider shortening the hike, as it can take about 6-8 hours to complete at a normal pace. The hike begins where there is a split in the main trail just beyond the parking lot. While this trail is a bit lengthier and steeper than the rest on this list, the views at the top are certainly worth the climb!

Boyd Lake State Park’s multi-use trail is open to bikes, walkers and leashed dogs alike! This easygoing paved and grassy trail connects to the city’s 22-mile Recreation Trail System and passes by beaches, under cottonwood trees and runs right by the water’s edgeLearn more about the trail and other things you can do at this massive park using our guide to Boyd Lake State Park!
