The past year or so has been extremely difficult for small businesses of all kinds — from shops and boutiques to salons and spas, to bars and restaurants. Artisans and makers have been especially impacted by the current economy, as many haven’t had the same exposure from in-person markets and events that they typically rely on.

One way to support the incredible small businesses in our midst is by signing up for a subscription box to receive regular shipments of the latest goods and gadgets — all made by local businesses. And Colorado has quite a few to choose from!

Get to know the variety of subscription boxes in Colorado, shipping everything from lemonade mixers to candles, and craft beer to flowers. Becoming a subscriber is an excellent way to support small businesses and makers — while also getting some unique items for your home (without having to leave the house!).

NoCo Box is “in the business of supporting small businesses.” They do this by sending artisan goods exclusively sourced from Northern Colorado to give back to the community we all love. Fort Collins entrepreneur Aisha Martinek shipped out the first NoCo Box this past November, during a time when local makers and small businesses were struggling amidst the pandemic. Now, the box includes products from more than a dozen businesses based in LovelandBerthoud, Fort Collins and elsewhere in Northern Colorado. Subscribers receive a new box on a monthly basis, but you may also order one on a one-time basis as a gift for someone — or yourself!

Colorado Springs residents are familiar with Pikes Peak Lemonade and their delicious homemade lemonade and syrups. Thankfully, those living elsewhere in the state — and the country — can get these unique flavors delivered straight to their door. Pikes Peak Lemonade offers a monthly subscription, for three, six or 12 months, which includes a lemonade concentrate, a metal daisy lid and three paper straws. The box is neatly packaged and shipped on the 5th of every month; simply place your order before the 22nd to receive the current month’s box! The cost of shipping is included in the price.
