Snow has officially made its way to NoCo, but you don’t have to pack up the skis and hit the slopes to enjoy it. You and your family can still get a downhill rush and play in the powder at parks and community spots just down the street. Plus, sledding is the best winter sport to remind you what it’s like to be a kid again. So bundle up and hit these hills to celebrate your next snow day!

Aggie Greens Disc Golf Course | Fort Collins
Right across the street from Holiday Twin Drive Inn at the intersection of Dixon Canyon Road and South Overland Trail, you’ll find a popular disc golf course that happens to be perfect for sledders when the powder hits. People come from all over town to what is often called the best sled hill in Fort Collins. It’s tall enough for a thrill, but not so tall that you’ll feel scared for yourself or your children.
City Park | Fort Collins
The hill at Fort Collins’ City Park allows you to gain some speed while still having plenty of time to stop before you run into any obstacles. Save this hill for experienced sledders so they can avoid the trees near the bottom.
Fossil Creek Park | Fort Collins
During the summer, Fossil Creek Park is the place to go for a prehistoric-themed playground, a skate park, sports fields and courts, a dog park, and horseshoe pits. When the snow falls, you can still bring your dog, but we also recommend bringing sledding gear!
Spring Canyon Park | Fort Collins
Spring Canyon Park boasts 100 acres of fun in every season. When the snow falls, hit the wide open fields to build igloos and snowmen, the two-acre dog park to romp with your pup, and the easy-going sled hill for some kid-friendly fun.
Edora Park | Fort Collins
At Edora Park, you’ll find the sled hill along the north side of the EPIC parking lot. The best part is you can enjoy hot chocolate at the facility’s snack bar or slip into the EPIC hot tub afterward!
Kroh Park | Loveland
The sled hill at Kroh Park is east of the pond and west of N Monroe Ave. As the most popular option in Loveland (and one of the region’s favorite sled spots), it’s the ideal spot for all skill levels.
Nottingham Field | Greeley
The hill beside UNC’s Nottingham Field has been the go-to sled hill in Greeley for decades. You’re sure to run into people you know if you head there on a powder day!
Fox Run Community | Greeley
For a less crowded option in Greeley, head to the Fox Run community on the west side of town You’ll find the hills near 59th Avenue and 17th Street. There are multiple slopes to choose from and it’s a lesser-known area so you’ll have plenty of room!
