Fourth of July inspires some of the most iconic summer celebrations. From patriotic parades, all-American car shows and backyard barbecues to fun runs, food trucks and fireworks — these events inspire patriotism, excitement and love for our communities. And we can’t get enough!

Gather the family this year and celebrate Independence Day in Fort Collins, Loveland, Timnath, Windsor or Wellington. No matter where you are in Northern Colorado, you’ll find plenty of food and a sky full of fireworks.

Don your most patriotic outfits, get ready to wave your flags, and let’s all have a fun and safe holiday!

 

Fort Collins

Fort Collins Fourth of July Events

FireKracker 5k | 7:25 a.m.

This year’s FireKracker 5k marks the 18th anniversary of the City Park celebration. Whether you run, walk, jog or race, the event includes a casual Citizen’s 5k, an Elite 5k, a Kid’s Race, a $3500 cash purse and other awesome awards! The first race, the Citizen’s 5k, takes off at 7:30 a.m. and festivities continue through 9:30 a.m.

 

Stars & Stripes Golf Tournament | 7:30 a.m.

Fort Collins’ annual Stars & Stripes tournament at City Park Nine is an 18 hole, 2-person team event. For the $50 entry fee, you’ll get to compete for prizes and indulge in food and drinks after the event!

 

35th Annual Old Timer’s Game | 9:30 a.m.

Join in the fun and celebrate July 4th with America’s favorite pastime at City Park North Ballfield. It’s a blast from the past watching these men relive their great memories enjoying the sport they love.

 

4th of July Parade | 10 a.m.

Fort Collins’ annual 4th of July Parade is always guaranteed to be a good time for the whole family. The displays of patriotism and community engagement are paired with local marching bands, lots of laughs and plenty of candy! Follow it up with continued celebrations throughout the day hosted by the city and other organizations.

 

Old-Fashioned Fourth of July | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Every year on the Avery House lawn, Poudre Landmarks Foundation throws an old-fashioned celebration that coincides with the City of Fort Collins July 4th Parade. Parade-goers can watch the parade then come to the lawn for continued festivities — including live music, Victorian games and crafts and more from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The kids will love dressing up in Victorian clothes from “Grandma’s Attic” and you’ll love the meals from local food trucks Mac’N, The Rollin’ Stone Wood Fired Pizzeria, and Trattoria Oreganata!

 

Live Music at City Park | 4:15 – 9:15 p.m.  

After the parade and before the fireworks, the celebration continues at City Park with live music! The Fort Collins Symphony will play from 8:15 p.m. until the fireworks begin. It’s the perfect time to dance in the park, watch the sun set and set out your chairs and blankets to prepare for the explosive show.

 

Fireworks Celebration | 9:35 p.m.

Stick around City Park until approximately 9:35 p.m. when the fireworks start! Year after year, this Fort Collins event is one of the best in NoCo.

 

Loveland

Loveland Fireworks Fourth of July July 4

July 4th Celebration at North Lake Park | 10 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Loveland’s July 4th Festival is held annually at North Lake Park and is one of the most festive events all year. In the past, over 20,000 people have gathered to celebrate Independence Day and watch the fireworks show at the end of the day. Festivities include food and game booths sponsored by nonprofit community organizations, a car show hosted by NoCo’s Veteran Motor Car Club of America, a performance from Loveland Concert Band, and the fireworks show at 9:17 p.m. Stick around until 9:30 p.m. when the fireworks start! 

 

Timnath

Things to do in Timnath on the Fourth of July

Town of Timnath 4th of July Celebration | 5 p.m.

Festivities begin at 5 p.m. in Timnath with live music from Larry & the Pour Boys, Thunder and Rain and Hot Tomatoes. While you dance, you can grab dinner from a local food truck including Austin Taco, CorndoggiesElli’s Deli, Mile High Lobster Shack, Revolution Artisan Pops, BIGS Meat Wagon and Pizza Casbah. Profits from beer and wine sales will benefit Overland Sertoma and there will be plenty of family-friendly activities as well. Stick around until 9:30 p.m. when the fireworks start!

 

Windsor

Northern Colorado Fourth of July 4 Events

4-Legged Run/Walk | 8 a.m.

Participate in a fun run around Windsor Lake this Fourth of July and bring your 4-legged friends! The race will be one lap around the lake and you get to take a home a t-shirt and winning prizes. Save money and Pre-register at the Community Recreation Center or register on the day of beginning at 7 a.m.

 

July 4th Celebration | 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.

After the festive 4-Legged Run/Walk, stick around Windsor Lake for local and regional food trucks and fireworks show beginning at 9:30 p.m.!

 

Wellington

Northern Colorado Fourth of July 4 Events Wellington

Annual 4th of July: Small Town Strong | 7 a.m. 

Wellington’s annual Fourth of July Celebration kicks off with a 7 a.m. pancake breakfast at The Filling Station and continues throughout the day with the signature car, motorcycle and truck show, a parade on Cleveland Avenue, and The Family Fun Fest in Centennial Park. You’ll find vendors and food, square dance demos, an ice cream social and much more! Stick around for fireworks at dusk and tune into 97.1 FM for synchronized music.
