Fort Collins is notorious for its bands. To celebrate our music-loving culture, Colorado State University and Mantooth Marketing Company come together every summer to present one of FoCo’s favorite events: The Lagoon Summer Concert Series.

In 2017, the free series is celebrating its 24th year with a lineup packed full of Northern Colorado bands and a few of our favorite food trucks. Every Wednesday, join them on the west lawn of CSU’s Lory Student Center from 6 — 8:30 p.m. and dance the evening away with a sweet treat in hand and a belly full of local eats.

The series begins June 14th and continues for eight weeks with eight different bands ranging from country and folk to reggae and punk. Get directions to the lawn here, bring your chairs and blankets, and don’t forget to tag #LagoonConcert on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!

Tatanka

The easiest label for Tatanka is reggae, but their pop sensibilities and dance-oriented electronic sounds provide a unique atmosphere that will have you on your feet all evening. Originally formed in Denver by a group of college friends, they now have ties and tours all over the country, and we’re so excited to see them in FoCo again this summer!

Mojomama

Mojomama is self-described as “funked up blues” and we think that’s a pretty accurate label. The Longmont-based group combines old-school R&B with funk influences from Aretha Franklin to Steely Dan which results in a fun live show you won’t soon forget! If you’re a fan of wicked bass lines and tasty melodic solos, don’t miss this July concert.

The Coteries Colorado Bands Lagoon Summer Concert Series

The Coteries

The Coteries are folk-rock at its finest. And the band even has a classic folk backstory; they were inspired by an epic 11,000 mile North American road trip that included a few freezing nights in the Rocky Mountains. Though they still travel in their VW bus, Trusty Rusty, they’re returning to Northern Colorado this summer.

You can also see The Coteries at the Noontime Notes Concert Series on July 18 and The Ben & Jerry’s Concert Series on July 21.
