Fort Collins is notorious for bikes, beers and bands, but we think burgers should be added to this list as well! The area has so many great burger joints to choose from, but we narrowed down the list in order to serve you with 11 of our favorites. Whether you’re craving a classic burger or one with all the fixin’s, we’ve got your lunch and dinner plans covered.

Stuft | Fort Collins + Windsor + Greeley

Whether you’re in Greeley, Windsor or Fort Collins, you can get a Stuft burger — and you’d be getting one of the best burgers in the state! At this year’s Copper Mountain Burger Summit, Stuft won second place with their beef, spinach, red onion, smoked Gouda, basil, bacon burger topped with tomato jam and carrot ribbons. Try one of their monthly featured burgers or build your own with the classics like grilled onions and bacon. If you’re feeling extra adventurous try one of their unique toppings like strawberry preserves and pita strips!
The Mayor of Old Town | Fort Collins

With over 100 beers on tap, The Mayor of Old Town is the perfect place to satisfy every beer and burger craving — whether you’re looking for a Cowboy Burger and an IPA, Roasted Mushroom burger with a Wheat, or a Smoked Mozz burger and a Dry Stout. If you’re overwhelmed by all the options, consult their menu as it lists the perfect beer pairing for each of their mouth watering burgers!
Big Al’s Burgers and Dogs | Fort Collins

A visit to Big Al’s is a bacon lover’s dream come true as their most famous burger is the 60/40 — 60 percent beef, 40 percent bacon. Your tastebuds will be kicked into overdrive with the first bite of this noteworthy burger. If you’re looking for a lighter option, they have many other classic combinations, like the mushroom and Swiss, made with fresh, never frozen beef and served with hand-cut fries. They also have gluten-free and vegetarian options, so this burger joint is perfect for everyone and every appetite.
Larkburger | Fort Collins

A Colorado native, Larkburger not only has one of the tastiest burgers in town, it is one of the most environmentally-friendly businesses. In 2011, our very own Fort Collins Larkburger was awarded an environmental business award from the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce. Their beef is always all-natural, their sauces and dressings are made in-house, and they never use preservatives or additives. This makes for one delicious burger that can stand on its own without a lot of additional toppings.
BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse | Fort Collins

BJ’s makes the list because of their creative burger options that turn beef into a masterpiece. They serve up a Portobello burger and another topped with fried jalapenos, but our personal favorite is the Late Night. Served all day, this open-face burger is smothered in house-made chile verde then topped with bacon, jack and cheddar cheeses, and a fried egg. But you don’t have to take our word for it. Get to BJ’s and try it for yourself — you won’t be disappointed!
Doug’s Day Diner | Fort Collins
At Doug’s Day Diner you may come for the breakfast, but you’ll stay (and come back again and again) for the burgers. One noteworthy burger that will leave you wanting more is the PTP — pesto, tomato and parmesan burger. It is the perfect combination of fresh ingredients and quality beef. But their other options definitely aren’t lacking in those departments either! If you show up to Doug’s and decide you don’t want a burger, have no fear; they have other lunch options and serve breakfast all day!
The Crown Pub | Fort Collins

Crown Pub’s burgers are a bit hidden on their menu, but definitely worth the find! Referred to as their “signature royales”, you can choose a half pound beef burger, bison burger or grilled chicken. Whichever option you choose, you’re in for a treat. They have choices from a classic Crown Royale to a Relleno Royale — a burger topped with a chipotle mayo stuffed pepper. Enjoy one of their burgers any Sunday evening and enjoy live jazz while you eat!
Coopersmith’s Pub and Brewing | Fort Collins

Coopersmith’s is a Fort Collins brewery serving two pubs — Poolside, focused on fun, and Pubside, focused on food and quiet entertainment — in Old Town. Whichever patio is more your speed, they’ve both been voted consistently as the best places to eat in Fort Collins. Since 1989, they’ve been serving some of the best beef, bison, black bean and turkey burgers in town so head down for a burger and a pint!
Mo Jeaux’s | Fort Collins
Mo Jeaux’s may be most popular for its authentic Cajun food, but their burgers should not be overlooked. Build your own flame grilled burger or order one of their signature gourmet options. Our favorite is the Smokehouse Burger topped with onions, jalapenos, cheddar and barbeque sauce, but there are six other options so try them all and pick a favorite!
Pourhouse Bar and Grill | Loveland

Pourhouse Bar and Grill in Downtown Loveland serves up a little bit of everything. Try the Chicken and Waffle Cone, Shrimp Carbonara, the Fajitas or for our purposes, one of their eight juicy burger options! They also have the longest happy hour in Loveland, so head down 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. for a drink and one of the best burgers in town!
CJ’s Patio Grill | Loveland

With a whole page of their menu dedicated to their delicious burgers and sandwiches, you’re sure to satisfy every burger craving at CJ’s Patio Grill. They have everything from a classic cheeseburger to a Frisco Burger topped with grilled onions, provolone and Thousand Island dressing on a Sourdough bun! We especially love how any burger can be turned into a chicken burger, for those looking for a lighter option.
